To reconstruct biomimetic cell-dense tissues, one promising approach is
through the use of a building-up process with cellular building blocks
such as cell sheets. The manipulation and transplantation of such cellular
building blocks rely on innovative strategies to noninvasively cleave cell-to-culture
substrate connections while preserving cell-to-cell connections. In addition,
it is necessary to fabricate thick tissues preliminarily in vitro and harvest
them quickly for use in a transplant. In this study, we fabricate a transplantable
thick cell sheet by employing the electrochemical detachment of cells from
a membrane culture substrate. |
